Empowering Children to Improve our Environment
The school council is made up of 2 children from Years 1 - 6. Children who would like to be a council representative put themselves forward and then the other children in the class vote for them.
School council members are pupils who are confident enough to be the 'voice of their class'! They meet once a term and their main aim is to organise fundraising events for the school as well as for charities and other good causes. Previous accomplishments have included their involvement playground improvements, support in promoting British Values in our school community and Child in Need fundraising.
Our School New Years Resolution is to become more green. The School Council is working towards The Green Flag Award to become an 'Eco-School', through this School Council members will be exploring the following topics: litter, waste management, energy, water, transport, healthy living, school grounds, biodiversity and global perspective.
