Visit to the MGGS wartime tunnels

On Friday 20th April 2018 Sycamore Class visited Maidstone Grammar School for Girls.

The children learned a lot about what happened in Maidstone during World War 2, how the school was used when a school from London was evacuated here and how rationing worked.

We went underground into the air raid tunnels that had been used to shelter the girls and we tried a traditional wartime lunch.

We had a fantastic morning and it has really supported our learning about World War 2.
