Empowering Children to Improve our Environment
The school council is made up of 2 children from Years 1 - 6. Children who would like to be a council representative put themselves forward and then the other children in the class vote for them.
School council members are pupils who are confident enough to be the 'voice of their class'! They meet once a term and their main aim is to organise fundraising events for the school as well as for charities and other good causes. Previous accomplishments have included their involvement playground improvements, support in promoting British Values in our school community and Child in Need fundraising.
To be a good school councillor you need to be:
- A good listener
- A clear speaker
- Trustworthy
- Helpful
- Reliable
- Honest
- Able to work in a team
- Able to share good ideas
