" A high-quality physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It should provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect." DFE
At Senacre Wood Primary, our aim is to provide pupils from Reception to Year 6 with a broad, balanced and enriching Physical Education (PE) curriculum. The curriculum focuses on a number of diverse and varied sports and activities that are designed to encourage physical development and progress. Whilst physical fitness, skill acquisition and practical performance are important components of the curriculum, we also aim to encourage social and mental well-being through sport.
In term 6, we all look forward to our Whole School Sports Week where we give the children opportunities to experience different sports and becoming part of a team with children in different year groups.
Throughout the year we offer a range of sporty after-school clubs which aim to enrich our physical education at Senacre Wood. These clubs can range from cheerleading to football coaching and are offered to all children in key stages one and two.
