Whilst school is closed, it is important for all pupils to continue with reading and writing activities. Below, we have included useful links to a range of resources.


RWI Phonic Session

RWI Phonics lessons at home from Monday 23rd March. Free Read Write Inc. Phonics lessons on Facebook and YouTube for children to watch at home; three short Speed Sound lessons with one of our trainers every day for the next two weeks. 

Set 1 Speed Sounds at 9.30 am and again at 12.30 pm
Set 2 Speed Sounds at 10.00 am and again at 1.00 pm
Set 3 Speed Sounds at 10.30 am and again at 1.30 pm

Some films will be available for 24 hours whilst others are live.

Phonics Play

In response to the ongoing situation, PhonicsPlay have decided to make their resources free to use during this period.
Children can use the site at home without their parents needing to subscribe. To access their resources all you need to do is log on using the following details.

Oxford Owl- Read, Write Inc Spelling

Year 2-6 has a log on to our Oxford Owl Spelling program which has child-friendly activities linking to the different units that have been covered so far.


Bug Club- Active Learn

A range of books, set by class teachers and matched to your child's book band, with comprehension questions. Please note, you need to click on log in which will take you to the log in page.

We would like to take this opportunity to encourage pupils to read a broad range of texts. This could include: stories on kindles, comics, newspapers, non-fiction texts, cookery books, magazines or school reading book. 

Oxford owl also offer a range of free ebooks for 3-11 year olds. They are all free but you need to register to access it.

If you are struggling for writing inspiration, try Pobble 365 which provides a daily picture and different writing opportunities.


Authorfy brings readers and writers closer together through interactive video masterclasses and fun downloadable activities as well as writing masterclasses.
