Year 5 went on their school trip to Maidstone Islamic Centre (Mosque) as part of their RE learning this term. The children got to see the inside of the mosque and learned more about the Islamic faith. They were fascinated by how different and big it was from a church. They were lucky enough to see the Imam perform the call to prayer, lead the prayer and witness the local people praying. This was such a fantastic experience and using their school value of ‘curiosity’, they had many questions at the end for the Imam. We had an amazing time and the children increased their knowledge about our RE enquiry.
